Virtual campaign Announcement
I ran as a first-time candidate for a city-wide seat for Lowell City Council in 2021. In that election, three seats were retained by three strong incumbents and I came in a strong 4th place finish with 4,126 city-wide votes. I am proud and honored to have earned those votes in 2021, and more importantly, the trust of thousands of Lowellians.
As our work continues, I am excited to again seek an at-large seat on your Lowell City Council. I am humbly asking for your vote on Tuesday, November 7th as well as your help to get me there.
As your City Councilor, I will continue to work toward building strong relationships not only within our neighborhoods, but across the entire city. I will continue to focus on your priorities and concerns, and will also seek to:
Increase community engagement with municipal government,
Aim for economic successes for the city, for businesses and also individuals and families to better their quality of life,
Encourage increased neighborhood vitality,
Ensure our neighborhoods are safe and our public safety officials are adequately staffed, and
Advocate for increased diversity, equity and inclusion across all facets of municipal work
We are all in this together. The community is calling for boldness, teamwork and problem-solvers to address concerns affecting our community including, but not limited to: vitality of our small businesses, increased taxes, housing crisis/rising rents, homelessness, public health/safety and overall city infrastructure. While these are issues that affect all individuals and families, we must also understand that there are others in our community who experience and feel the brunt of these issues more.
Running for office is not for the faint of heart. Putting oneself on a public stage for scrutiny takes remarkable courage and conviction. And so to all past, current and future candidates who run for local office, I humbly say, ‘thank you for stepping up and being part of a cause that is bigger than yourself.’ To all the family, friends and community members who have worked behind the scenes to support us candidates, thank you for your sacrifices and your love.
In asking for your vote, I am making a commitment to you to work hard to ease the effects of these issues for individuals, families and the community as a whole. More importantly, I am making a commitment to you that as we tackle any issue, my focus will be on honest dialogue, inclusion and continuing to strengthen our community. Through this focus, I will be learning from the past as we build a stronger present and future for Lowell. Lowell is a great city we all call home, and I’m optimistic that we can do great things together.
Let's win in November!
Sincerely,
